FMER at the 2024 Cruess Symposium
Overview:
The McGill Institute of Health Sciences Education (IHSE) orchestrated a remarkable milestone with the inaugural Richard and Sylvia Cruess symposium on Scholarship in Health Sciences Education: Insights and Innovations, held on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at the McGill Faculty Club and Conference Centre.
The presence of the McGill Family Medicine Education Research (FMER) Group at this seminal gathering bore important significance on multiple fronts. Firstly, upon request, Charo Rodriguez, Director of the FMER, was one of the members of the Scientific Planning Committee. Secondly, FMER’s financial contribution to the event further underscores the unwavering commitment of the group to fostering excellence in health sciences education. However, perhaps the most profound impact of FMER’s involvement was witnessed through the participation of some of its students and researchers, who seized the opportunity to showcase their scholarly contributions with up to five presentations, from Sima Zahedi’s poster presentation of her MSc thesis to Roland Grad’s oral presentation on shared decision-making, through the three posters exhibited by Keith Todd and his team on the renewal of the family medicine residency program:
Big CONGRATS to all the FMER folks for leading the way in family medicine education scholarship!
