The Family Medicine Education Research Group (FMER) proudly congratulates Prof. Samira Abbasgholizadeh Rahimi, on her selection as a delegate for Science Meets Parliament 2025, an initiative of the Canadian Science Policy Centre in partnership with Canada’s Chief Science Advisor, Dr. Mona Nemer.

Science Meets Parliament is a distinguished program that connects leading Canadian researchers with Members of Parliament and Senators to promote evidence-informed decision-making in public policy. Delegates are chosen through a competitive national process that highlights excellence and leadership in research across disciplines.

Prof. Rahimi, Canada Research Chair in AI and Advanced Digital Primary Health Care, an Assistant Professor at McGill University, and an active member of FMER, was among this year’s successful applicants. Her work in the application of artificial intelligence in primary health care reflects FMER’s commitment to advancing family medicine through rigorous research and innovation.

Her participation in Science Meets Parliament 2025, taking place in Ottawa on November 17–18, 2025, exemplifies FMER’s mission to bridge science, policy, and practice.

We extend our warm congratulations to Prof. Rahimi for this prestigious recognition and her continued contributions to the integration of research and policy in family medicine.
