FMER at ISDM 2026: Roland Grad Presents on Clinician Willingness to Incorporate Shared Decision Making

Overview:

FMER member Roland Grad participated in the 13th International Shared Decision Making Conference, held at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire. He presented the poster How Willing are Clinicians to Incorporate Shared Decision Making? on July 8, 2026, and participated in a panel discussion during the conference’s closing ceremony on July 10.

Co-authored by Roland Grad, Hannah B. Levitt, Maureen R. Boardman, and Glyn Elwyn, the poster examined the use of incorpoRATE, a five-item measure designed to assess clinicians’ willingness to incorporate shared decision making into clinical practice. The findings demonstrate how the measure may help educators identify variation in clinicians’ perspectives and initiate discussion about their approach to decision making with patients.
