Charo Rodríguez completed her studies in Medicine (MDCM) at the University of Alicante, Spain, in 1983. She holds a Master’s in Health Economics and Management of Health Care Services (University of Alicante, 1991), an MSc in Public Health – Management Option (University of Valencia, 1992), and a PhD in Public Health – Health Care Organization Option (University of Montreal, 2001). After a CIHR-awarded Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Faculties of Medicine and Management at McGill University, she was appointed at the McGill Department of Family Medicine in 2003, where she currently is a Professor.
Dr. Rodríguez’s research program includes two main streams: organizational studies in healthcare organizations and medical education. She was awarded Research Scholar by the Fonds de recherche du Quebec en santé (FRQS) from 2004 to 2016. She was also awarded the 2013-2014 Cruess Faculty Scholarship in Medical Education. Since 2015, she is Director of the Family Medicine Educational Research Group (FMER), and Director of the MSc in Family Medicine – Medical Education Option.
Dr. Rodríguez regularly teaches graduate courses, seminars and workshops in qualitative methodologies in health. She was included in the Faculty of Medicine Dean’s Honor List for Educational Excellence in spring 2015.
