Towards Equitable and Inclusive AI in Health and Oral Health Care

Join Dr. Samira A. Rahimi as we explore the EDAI framework, a practical, internationally-developed guide that provides actionable guidance for integrating Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) at individual, organizational, and systemic levels.

Dr. Rahimi, B.Eng, PhD, is a Canada Research Chair (Tier II) in AI and Advanced Digital Primary Health Care and an Assistant Professor at McGill University. She is also Co-Director of McGill’s Collaborative for AI and Society (McCAIS), an Associate Academic Member of Mila – Quebec AI Institute, and Research Co-Director of the General Practice Residency (GPR) program in dentistry at the Jewish General Hospital.

With a research focus on developing and implementing advanced digital health technologies for vulnerable and underserved populations, Dr. Rahimi will explain how the EDAI framework ensures AI systems are not just technically robust, but also socially responsible and equitable in real-world health and oral health settings, making this essential learning for AI researchers, clinicians, policymakers, and EDI practitioners alike.
